Hello! Rob here. I just pushed a new update for Kickabout to the iOS app store, with new Collectibles for your tabletop stadium, timer improvements, and more. Firstly, if you’re getting World Cup withdrawals, know you’re not alone. The popular apple outlet Six Colors, did a great writeup of how Kickabout was helping them kick theirs. After getting thousands of fingers on Kickabout in 80+ countries during the world cup, I’ve been gleaning valuable insights that have shaped my expansion roadmap through to the fall. Today’s update is just the start, and I’ll announce more very soon on my expansion plans 🤖. Here’s what you’ll find in today’s update: What's new:
• 7 new balls to collect
• 3 new pitches to collect
• Color sheen on gray uncollected items
• Collection browse position persists
• 2 player mode introduction page
• Match timer flashes for final 20 seconds
• Match timer paused after goals until kickoff
• Daily score milestones tuned
• Request Rating prompts
• New app icon
I hope you can feel the love and care I'm putting into Kickabout as a solo dev. Before I started on the bigger expansion features of my roadmap, I really wanted to take care of some of the rough edges on the gear collection experience, and get those timer improvements in for increased gameplay drama. Hello! I released a new update for Kickabout today, so let's go over what it adds and do a nerdy 'behind the scenes' on how this content was created (AKA live ops).
